New Version based on shape memory metals

After extensive material tests, it was found that the highest torques can currently be achieved not with elastomers, but with so-called shape memory alloys (Nitinol). Here, the change in length of the material is achieved by a crystal phase transition, the metals show an increased torque compared to polymers and a longer service life. The entropy wheel modified in this way generates so much mechanical energy that it can even pull a passenger car.
