    Flow instabilities of polymers
Investigation of meltflow instabilities in shear flows of polymer melts using capillary rheometer with a special slit die including high sensitive pressure transducers. Implementation and application of data analysis methods, i.e. statistical moments, FT, ACF, CCF, Lyapunov exponent, attractor analysis, …, to improve the understanding of meltflow instabilities. Optimization of extrusion processing of polymers via high sensitive measurement of meltflow instabilities. Development, construction and testing of new geometries to expand the capabilities of a CaBER (Capillary Breakup Rheometer) and an ARES to measure normalforces.
